This beautiful poker was made by Nidd Smithy -Design Blacksmiths in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, situated on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. It has been hand-made using the combination of good old-fashioned forge and anvil method and the muscle power of a strong Blacksmith! Imagine: a piece of cold hard steel, heated in the fire until glowing yellow hot and malleable, and then ‘belted’ and tweaked and twisted until it becomes an object of beauty! It is then wire-brush polished and finally coated in a clear protective finish for a long life and low maintenance. Each sheep is unique as his features are created by hand and heat; so if you buy a whole ‘flock’ of tools they will each possess their own different characteristics! The poker does not incorporate any imported weld-on manufactured components like some cheaper fabricated versions. The poker measures approximately 60cm long, but each one, as made by hand, may vary by a centimetre or two. This poker features a diamond shape tipped point.
